Background
The expansion is a priority action committed to by the Northern Ireland Executive in the New Decade New Approach agreement.
The taskforce will build on steps taken to date and develop an action plan with associated timescales and approximate costings to achieve 10,000 students at the Magee campus as soon as possible.
An interim report is expected by the end of summer 2024, with a full action plan due to be published by the end of the year.

Terms of reference
In March 2024 Economy Minister Conor Murphy launched a taskforce to develop and oversee an action plan to expand Ulster University’s Derry~Londonderry campus to 10,000 students. These are its terms of reference.
