The Department for Employment and Learning commissioned PA Consulting Group to undertake the Review of the Further Education Centres of Excellence in June 2008 in order to:
- assess the effectiveness and relevance of the existing Centre of Excellence model in delivering the FE sector's strategic objectives
- investigate the applicability of other 'excellence' models operating within GB, ROI and internationally
- make recommendations for a revised model, suitable for adoption within the sector, taking cognisance of recent policy developments in NI and GB
