This paper, carried out by Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) and the Enterprise Research Centre (ERC), explores the growth and productivity effects on R&D and innovation of both Invest NI and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) grant support to firms in Northern Ireland, in the period from 2006-2016.
This research provides context in terms of the effectiveness of grant support for R&D and innovation in Northern Ireland and the comparative impacts of grants from Invest NI and UKRI, as well as the relationship between accessing one or both sources of funding.
